Synopsis/Details
This is EP 5 of my original series - The Madman's Daily Unequivocal Comedy, which is my take on shows like Black Mirror and The Twilight Zone. This two-part episode idea came from a simple concept - what happens if a ghost/spirit falls in love with a person? Think Ghost meets Fatal Attraction. I do not really deal with that subject matter in PART I of this horror / lore story, as it builds up to that in the next episode. Part I of this horror tale deals more with sibling rivalries and other forms of social aggression/ills that can corrupt your soul. I originally had one long story split up - 30 pages in Scotland and 30 pages in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I did not like the pacing and flow, so I tried again. I ended up adding an origin story to the tale, and Part I is now set entirely in Scotland. I think this makes the story work better and builds the characters more. This is a horror story with mystery, suspense, gore, witchcraft and sibling / family rivalries. I did not really intend for this story to flow this way, but when I started to write it, everything changed, and I needed to reset the outline and pacing of the story. Part I is set entirely in Scotland, spanning centuries of lore and myth, centered on this mysterious, cursed lake. I have always loved that type of folklore, especially from Scotland/ England.
