Synopsis/Details
This story started twenty years ago, while I was in college. All I had at that point was the opening scene idea. The rest of the story developed over the last few years, when I remembered the initial idea. This script was more influenced by Little Miss Sunshine with similar themes, especially involving mental health. Also definitely some influence by Dostoevsky type stories like The Brothers Karamazov, The Idiot and also the Gambler (although I read that one after writing this script.) I had a different ending in mind at first, but it was not working, so I went back to the original ending that I had in my original treatment from a few years ago around 2020. I think it works better and it keeps the ending vague. I personally like movies that leave things up in the air to some degree. Not everything has to be wrapped up neatly, because life doesn't work like that. This story deals with some mental health issues, - depression, suicide, prescription drugs, and family conflicts. It is all fictional. I am also obsessed with Arizona right now so that is probably why I used Arizona for part of the setting. California for the rest, as I have never been to the west coast, so it seems so foreign and mysterious to me.

The Writer: Raymond Giuffrida

I am a screenwriter and songwriter. I've been working over the last few years on my series idea - The Madman's Daily Unequivocal Comedy, which is my take on shows like The Twilight Zone and Black Mirror. I have 12 episodes written for season one and many ideas for future episodes. Each episode features new characters/settings, although some episodes continue previous storylines. Also have three feature-length screenplays ready to be produced. Go to bio
