Synopsis/Details
The first in a proposed trilogy, 24/7 DEAD, is set when getting killed in the line of duty doesn't mean the end of your law enforcement career. Homicide detectives Jack Steckler and William Brooks are about to embark on the most dangerous eight-hour shift they've ever experienced. Partners before an assassin ended Brooks' life, once Brooks underwent what's come to be known as the 10-55 Process, Steckler and Brooks were back in business. Unfortunately for Brooks, while he can continue solving crimes, the 10-55 Process drastically alters what passes for his day-to-day routine. Brooks no longer sleeps. He's impervious to bullets. He never gets thirsty. And the only thing he eats now regularly is the fresh flesh of condemned criminals. Which brings Steckler and Brooks to their remarkable eight-hour shift. While the 10-55 Process up to now has been used exclusively to resurrect slain police officers, it appears someone unauthorized to do so is utilizing the Process to create an army of undead killers–all of them ravenously hungry. Like it or not, Steckler and Brooks are thrown into the middle of a deadly war that threatens the lives of every citizen they are sworn to protect. From one brutally devastating conflict after another, Steckler and Brooks move steadily forward to a final confrontation littered with bodies and few, if any, survivors.
