Synopsis/Details
A woman, DEBI, looks out her window, watching as the garbage man, STEPHON, picks up trash. Debi calls the police. She says that there's been a kidnapping. Across the street, NICOLE wakes to her son, CONNOR, standing over her. He asks her for his toy, which she reminds him that he broke. Connor says he'd like to play with some neighborhood kids. Nicole sighs, telling Connor that she'd find him another toy. She hears the garbage truck and jumps out of bed. She has to take out the trash. Stephon stops to take a picture of MISTY, a small dog. He has a hobby of painting portraits of dogs. Stephon gets excited when he sees Nicole exit her house with her trash. He drives his truck to Nicole's house. Stephon gives Nicole a painting of her, Connor, and their dog, BOGO. Nicole thanks him, but tells him that Bogo went missing. In fact, a lot have dogs have gone missing. Nicole says she's given up looking for Bogo. Nicole's garbage bag breaks. As Stephon helps her clean it up, police officers arrive, accompanied by Debi and a few other neighbors. They accuse Stephon of kidnapping their dogs. Stephon tries to defend himself, but the police stop him. Debi confront Stephon, pointing to his habit of photographing dogs. Nicole tries to stand up for Stephon, but no one listens. The police inspect the garbage truck and find the body of one of the neighbors' dog. The police go to arrest Stephon. They stop when the dog's collar falls out of Debi's pocket. It's discovered by Nicole, who shows it to the officers. They arrest Debi and take her away. The neighbors apologize to Stephon as they leave. Stephon and Nicole have a moment before Stephon rides off. Later that night, someone breaks into the house and kidnaps Misty. They take to a dark house. When the lights come on, it's revealed to be Nicole's house. Flashbacks show that Nicole had been kidnapping the dogs the entire time. Connor, a budding psychopath, has been killing the dogs. The missing dog was in her trash bag, including the collar. When the bag busted, she picked up the collar. It was Nicole who planted the collar on Debi. She takes the dog to Connor's room. On his wall are pictures of all the missing dogs, along with knives. Nicole gives the dog to Connor, saying that she knows he can't help himself. She'd rather he kill dogs than harm other people. Connor thanks Nicole as she presents him with his new toy.
