Synopsis/Details
In a Martian jail cell, DR. WRIGHT, a stern, methodical medical inspector, releases PRISONER X, a man with amputated hands. The doctor, along with NURSE YACE, examines the prisoner, revealing cybernetic hands crafted by Dr. Wright to replace the lost ones. The doctor aims to rehabilitate Prisoner X, who seems disinterested in the procedure. As Dr. Wright delves into the man's past, a disturbing revelation unfolds. Raised by a strict pastor father, Prisoner X endured a traumatic childhood, finding purpose in a dark interpretation of scripture. His newfound cybernetic hands, far stronger than his original ones, serve a sinister purpose – to bring "mercy" through strangulation. In a shocking turn, Prisoner X demonstrates his newfound strength by fatally attacking Dr. Wright. With an eerie calmness, he thanks the doctor for the hands, leaving Nurse Yace horrified. The screenplay raises chilling questions about the consequences of scientific advancements and the potential for misuse. This short script explores the intersection of technology, trauma, and malevolence in a Martian society, challenging the ethical boundaries of medical intervention and the dark motivations that can emerge from a troubled past.
