Synopsis/Details
On her eighteenth birthday, Brittney sits in a bar named The Brown Derby. She meets a teenage boy named Nick Valens. She has a few drinks with him and takes him with her to sleep it off. The next morning, Brittney goes to her dance class, leaving Nick to watch her.
Nick returns home to his mother, Mary Jane. Going to work, and Nick going to rent movies. Nick meets a video clerk named Stephanie. The night becomes a sleepover for Nick when Stephanie returns home with him and sleep together. The next morning, Brittney visits Nick, leaving him surprised and how to get rid of his guest.
Brittney and Nick go to the theatre so Nick can watch Brittney perform. Struck by her performance but feeling out of place. Nick leaves. Due to her friend's rude behavior towards Nick, knowing what she wants and who treats her better than them, Brittney goes to Nick to tell him she loves him.
Nick now knows what they love each other and do one thing.
While in Las Vegas, Nick wins enough money for the now newlyweds to get an apartment, buy a camera recorder and capture all the memories he can of them together. Brittney returns to her parent's house to retrieve some belongings but gets a rude awakening when her mother, Lauren, returns to tell her that her and her father are getting a divorce. Left with nothing but her brand new husband, Nick. Life for them gets better until Brittney's mother informs Nick, she is dead. Heartbroken and alone, Mary Jane comforts him in his anguish.
A lying Lauren pays the doctor who also lied to Nick about Brittney's death. To her surprise, Lauren learns that Brittney is pregnant and moves her to New York, covering up the mess she has created.
Months later, Nick is unhappy with Stephanie and Brittney gives birth to a girl but can't bring herself to be near the newborn. Lauren flies the newborn across the country to Las Vegas, Nevada and sells the newborn to a young couple. Happy with her decision, Lauren returns to New York.
While attending dance practice, Brittney loses her balance and hits her head, to which she begins to regain her memory. Like a wave, Brittney gets her memories of Nick back and learns of the child that was taken away from her. Rather allowing Lauren to get away with her sins, Brittney confronts her which causes her to fall down an elevator shaft.
Twelve years later, Brittney returns to Los Angeles, stays in her father's mansion after her mother passes away. Free to make her own choices, Brittney attempts to see Nick, now a grown man with a daughter of his own. She rushes off before Nick can spot her. Not wanting more but to find her daughter, Brittney finds a missing person's poster and locates her in a park under the name Shelly Owens. During a card game, Brittney makes a bet with the young hustler and Shelly wins the money along with an escort to the mansion. Not used to a child being around her, Brittney loses her temper with the girl, slapping her. Shelly storms off in anger.
