Just in Time
A neurotic geek uses his time-reversing watch to woo the girl of his dreams.
Mistakes. Sometimes we immediately recognize when one’s been made. At other times, death mercifully comes first.
But no matter when we discover our errors, the mental reaction’s often the same. Everyone WISHES they could go “back in time” and try again!
Consider that wish granted. Not by a genie, but technological know-how. In Just in Time, geeky protagonist Eric has invented something to do just that: on his wrist is a watch that, when twisted, dings and turns back time… only for a few seconds.
But in Eric’s case, those brief moments can be the difference between getting a date or rejected by Stacey, a girl he fancies. When the two finally meet up for dinner, Eric uses the watch frequently; “fine-tuning” what Stacey wants to hear:
ERIC
I'm a cat person.
*DING*
ERIC
I'm definitely a dog person.
As the date goes on, Stacey becomes more and more attracted to Eric. Strange.
Yet before the couple can lock lips, Eric’s got one last thing to say. And the way Stacey reacts to it may make him realize that sometimes, just being yourself is the most attractive thing to do.
If you’re reading this and the script (surprisingly) hasn’t been optioned yet, you too are just in time. Low budget, witty and warm, JIT is sure to be scooped up fast. Don’t make the mistake of passing this one up. Because time-traveling watches are hard to come by these days...
