Synopsis/Details
QF - ISA Suspense Competition (2022). Australian outback - supernatural horror. Low budget. Very limited cast and locations. Filming grants are available through various Australian state/territory film agencies, and Film Australia. A group of hikers travel to a remote lagoon on a fishing trip, unknown to them they disturb a dreamtime spirit. Markus our protagonist must embrace his long forgotten medicine-man training in order to save his and his friends lives. The script ultimately is about embracing heritage and considering what are truly the important things in life, family, friends and culture. This script scored a strong Blacklist 7. However that game gets expensive fast so it's not currently hosted on that site. I've re-written and polished the script since then and personally believe it's much stronger. Enjoy!

SMOKESCREEN, a WW1 script of mine, made the ScriptShadow Secrets Mega Showdown Top 4 in 2025. https://scriptshadow.net/mega-showdown-finalist-4-smokescreen/ OPAL scored a Blcklst 8 (top 3.5% of screenplays on the site, from both amateurs and pros). I'm fortunate to be mentored by Nicky Weinstock, Dominic Morgan (Scriptfella), and Philip Tarl Denson. Thank you. I've read a bunch of screenplay books and my personal favourites are ScriptShadow Secrets and Pilar Alessandra's Coffee Break Screenwriter. I'm fortunate to have the incredibly talented Entertainment Lawyer, Jay Johnson on my team. You may DM at your leisure, I'll try to get to any… Go to bio
