Synopsis/Details
War changes a woman as much as it changes a man. WOMEN IN WAR follows Lady Trudy Primrose and Kate Boyle from their aristocratic lifestyles in England to the horrific battlefields in France and Belgium. They volunteer to serve with the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry (FANY) naively seeking adventure and relief from their boring lives. But English society in 1915 did not make it easy for young women to serve. “Your place is with your husband and children.” “The English people have no stomach for young girls being gassed, or worse.” It is the frontline ,troops, the Tommies in the trenches, who truly appreciate the care and comfort provided by the FANYs. “These ladies are the most courageous women you will ever encounter.” When their ambulance is attacked by German deserters, Trudy and Kate “fight like hell” to save their Sargeant Major patient, an old chauvinistic nemesis. WOMEN IN WAR shares many themes with movies such as “1917.” Except the camaraderie and courage under fire are portrayed by females. It is a war movie for and about women.

An old flame is reignited. Or not. How life in the story turns out depends on how I write it. It can be very therapeutic. I've been writing screenplays for 20+ years. Most of my work is dramas, from a single pager about a woman's transition to a 130 page epic LGBTQ war drama. I enjoy the long process of developing a feature, but I also enjoy experimenting with shorts (I once wrote a short that was told through the doors the characters went through). I recently completed an African American… Go to bio
