Synopsis/Details
TrejiX intercepts a transmission between JinFraX and a protected residence beyond the Bylanthian System. A stolen Imperial credential gives him temporary access to a sealed voice archive, where the speaker is identified as PreJis’s disinherited son. Although the evidence points toward the elusive Exile, Juliana refuses to act outside established law. She negotiates a joint investigation that leaves Trevani authorities in control of operations within their jurisdiction while preserving Veyran Human access to the evidence.
As PreJis resists questions about the unauthorized attempt to abduct Kevin, VrasX reveals that another civilization was secretly monitoring the operation. The recovered signal belongs to the Vaelori. Baelor V confronts Thraton Davxon, who admits authorizing the covert surveillance without parliamentary approval. In response, Juliana suspends intelligence sharing, forcing the Vaelori Parliament to disclose the complete operation and begin a formal review of Thraton’s authority.
Meanwhile, Kevin remains locked out of the recovered telemetry from his final journey through time. Marcus Benson, a mechanical engineer and chemist at Veyra Ag, asks Kevin to examine a failing botanical circulation system. Kevin accepts the temporary consultation and travels to Veyra Ag, where he briefly exchanges a silent look with Heather Nabors before identifying a hidden timing discrepancy affecting twelve systems.
The joint investigation follows JinFraX’s correspondence to an off-system communications relay. When the recipient completes a live biometric challenge, the Imperial kinship record definitively identifies him as PreJis’s exiled son. The authentication exposes a new coordinate—but also warns the Exile that the investigation has reached him. From an unknown location, he orders JinFraX to abandon the compromised route and sends a final message to PreJis: they have finally found the son he abandoned.
