Synopsis/Details
Professor Adrian Kane teaches ancient history part-time, studies Egyptian pyramids with near-obsessive focus, and flips unusual older properties on the side. When he buys a rundown old house to renovate, he discovers a heavily locked vault door hidden deep in the basement corner. The door is jammed shut and has to be forced open. Behind it is not a storage room, but a narrow stone stairway descending into darkness and a tunnel running beneath the house.
With only a strong flashlight and his cell phone, Adrian heads down. He hears rats in the tunnel, nearly stumbles into one, and presses forward until he sees a strange blue flash ahead. When he passes through it, the way back seals behind him. Forced onward, he climbs another long stairway and emerges into a world that looks nothing like Earth: alien skies, a glowing city in the distance, flying vehicles, and metallic pyramid-like structures that instantly convince him there is a connection to Egypt.
Adrian is found by KAEL, a mysterious guide who explains that he likely stumbled into an unstable time portal by accident. The only way home is through a different return structure hidden in this world's ancient transit system. Kael gives Adrian a backpack with food, a glowing map, a signal device, and a small defensive weapon, then brings him to a dangerous portal building where ancient guardians still protect the old network. Adrian barely survives the encounter and is thrown deeper into the alien civilization instead of home.
There he meets SERA, a sharp, conflicted ally who reveals the truth: Earth's pyramids were not just monuments but anchor forms tied to a vast portal network spanning worlds and time. Beneath the metallic first pyramid lies the lower anchor core—and buried in its memory chambers is proof that someone from Earth crossed over long ago. That record warns that reopening the full network would not simply send Adrian home. It would reconnect worlds that were sealed apart for a reason.
Adrian becomes the key to everything. VAREK, a powerful faction leader, wants to use Adrian's Earth-origin trace to fully reactivate the primary network and restore Earth to the center of the transit system. But Adrian realizes that what looks like a miracle could become an invasion. In the climax, he must choose between the easy path home and the harder path of sealing the network to protect both civilizations. His decision sends him back to Earth through a narrow secondary alignment—but not before he learns that the pyramids on Earth were only the visible echoes of a much older design.
