Justin Vitale is broke, freshly laid off from his marketing job, and taking occasional work as an underwear model to pay his bills. Raised in a loud, loyal Italian-American family by Raffaele and Frieda, Justin grew up believing his father’s simple code: justice means consequences, and the punishment should fit the crime. But beneath the family’s everyday life are old neighborhood ties and unspoken debts that have protected Justin in ways he never understood.

Desperate for money, Justin accepts work from Harper, a well-connected fixer who hires him to conduct corporate surveillance for a mysterious handler known only as “the Slithering Man.” His first assignment — exposing an executive stealing from her company — confirms his belief that uncovering the truth can set things right. His next case is far more dangerous: investigating Eleanor Thorne, the CEO of Inovex, an artificial intelligence company.

To gain access to Eleanor and uncover the truth, Justin creates a double life that pushes him further from the people closest to him. His relationship with Caroline begins to unravel as he hides his real work, while his career as an underwear model makes his need for anonymity increasingly difficult.

When Eleanor is found dead by poisoning, Justin and his hacker partner Jesse continue investigating and uncover evidence of Langhorne’s financial motive. Their search reveals that Eleanor’s death is connected to a larger conspiracy that reaches beyond a simple corporate scandal. At the same time, Justin’s understanding of his own family begins to collapse when Raffaele reveals a long-held secret about Peter’s adoption and the hidden world of loyalty, favors, and old connections that has surrounded Justin his entire life.

Justin tracks the Slithering Man to an abandoned wire factory, where he confronts him with evidence linking him to the murders. Instead of denying it, the Slithering Man turns the confrontation around. Before escaping, he leaves Justin with blackmail material that exposes the truth: Justin was never his partner. He was the intended scapegoat — an “Oswald kid” being positioned to take the fall for crimes he did not commit.

The pursuit leads to a final confrontation on a subway platform. The fight turns violent, and Ernesto — one of the family’s old protectors watching from the shadows — intervenes, sending Langhorne into the path of an oncoming train.

With the evidence exposed, Justin still faces consequences for his own actions: illegal surveillance, breaking and entering, and impersonating an officer. His brother Jack uses legal connections to negotiate a deal: no prison time, but twenty-six months working for Detective Malloy’s financial crimes task force.

Changed by what he has learned about justice, loyalty, and himself, Justin begins trying to build a more honest life. Whether Caroline can forgive the secrets he kept — and whether Justin can become the man she hoped he could be — remains uncertain.

The film closes where it began: the Vitale family gathered around a holiday meal, loud, imperfect, and fiercely loyal. The same world that shaped Justin’s belief in justice now welcomes him home, even as he struggles to define what justice truly means.
