Synopsis/Details
In a quiet, close-knit town, eight-year-old Lily wakes up to find her hair matted with peanut butter, courtesy of her mischievous six-year-old brother Damon. Determined to fix it before anyone can stop her, Lily sets off on a chaotic quest through the neighborhood, collecting one bizarre "cure" after another from a string of eccentric neighbors — strawberry jam from the cat lady, marshmallow fluff from the bearded man next door, bread from the kind man down the street, and pickle brine from the sharp-tongued woman on the corner. Each remedy fails, leaving Lily's hair (and patience) worse than before. After a full day of failed fixes and thirty-minute waits, Lily finally accepts that nobody's grandmother's trick is going to save her — and decides the only real solution is to give Damon a taste of his own medicine. She ambushes him with everything she's collected all day, restoring some balance to the household (and her dignity) just before their parents walk back in.
