Synopsis/Details
Daniel wakes in the middle of the night to to a scraping sound in his bedroom. Thinking he is just hearing things. He returns to sleep. But when he hears it again, he quickly learns that the old box fan at the foot of his bed has moved. He thinks it’s all in his head so he tries to go back to sleep. The scraping sound returns, and Daniel snaps up and sees the box fan moving quickly around the side of the bed in an awkward left-right gait. Frightened, Daniel falls out of the bed. The Box fan quickly changes directions and gets around to the other side of the bed before Daniel can get up. He puts his hands up to defend himself as the box fan charges, its whirring blades spinning faster. More aggressively. Suddenly, the fan stops. Daniel looks past the fan and sees that the fan’s plug has come out of the socket. He quickly grabs the box fan…
The box fan soars from the window and smashes into pieces on the concrete. Daniel sits on his bed, trying to make sense of what just happened. Suddenly, a heavy drag across the floor leading to the hallway. Daniel looks toward his bedroom door. The silver refrigerator shines in the moonlight as it leans into the doorway, appearing to peer into the room..
Daniel’s eyes go wide and he gulps loudly.
