Synopsis/Details
Think “Bodies Bodies Bodies" meets "Searching" in the world of influencers, internet clout and social media.
Streamed to Death is a contained horror-thriller with a social media edge, set in the vibrant yet volatile world of influencer culture. The story begins with Marcy Anderson, a Twitch streamer vacationing in isolation, whose online accounts suddenly post inflammatory, career-ending content. Before she can explain, she’s brutally murdered — stabbed repeatedly just as her phone dies and help becomes unreachable. Her death is never confirmed, just her apparent “cancellation,” as social media and gossip channels feast on her downfall.
Weeks later, Marcy’s best friend, Amber “8-Bit Amber” Hernandez, moves into a gated influencer mansion known as the “Red Light District” — a luxury home for female creators with millions of combined followers. But things are off from the start: one former resident mysteriously disappeared, another's financial records don’t add up, and the house AI system, “Francine,” seems to be hiding things. When another housemate is killed in a staged gym accident, Amber starts investigating and slowly uncovers a trail of hacked servers, forged posts, and growing evidence that someone is targeting the residents — and may be doing it from inside the house.
As the murders escalate and digital footprints are erased in real time, Amber races against a faceless digital predator, unsure who she can trust — and how far the killer will go to protect the truth. Tapping into themes of cancel culture, digital identity, and the commodification of tragedy, Streamed to Death combines the tension of Scream with the modern paranoia of Searching and The Circle. It’s a sharp, suspenseful slasher built for the influencer age — one where your clout might be your greatest asset... or your deadliest liability.
