Synopsis/Details
In "Pet-Cam", Joan (29), a horror novelist, and her husband Ron (33) move into a creepy old house with a violent past, eager to turn it into a haunted BnB. After their cat Ellie disappears for a day, Ron outfits her with a pet cam to monitor her whereabouts. As they settle in, Joan begins to suspect that the house harbors more secrets than they were led to believe. Food disappears, strange sounds resonate, and a foul odor, like something has died, permeates the air. Ron suggests that maybe the house really is haunted, but Joan, a skeptic, decides she needs to find the truth. After watching disturbing footage from the pet cam, Joan uncovers a hidden room in their spooky basement. She gets trapped inside when the door swings shut and injures herself on debris. Although she tries to contact Ron, he's preoccupied with work. When someone finally arrives, Joan assumes it’s Ron, but it's Brent (60), a homeless man with a tragic, murderous past. He's been using this old, empty house to carry out his depraved need to kill women. Now that Joan has discovered his secret, he feels compelled to kill her too. Joan must use her wit to outsmart Brent and stay alive. When Ron arrives home and can't find Joan, he decides to check the pet cam. After viewing the distressing footage, he realizes Joan is trapped in that ominous basement, and he must save her. In a thrilling climax, Joan fights for her life, while Ron comes face-to-face with Brent. They manage to defeat Brent using cleverness and skill. In the end, Joan turns the tables on the real monster, proving that humans can be the most terrifying of all. "Pet-Cam" is a chilling tale of survival and human monstrosity that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end."
