Synopsis/Details

RYAN and CLAIRE, JAKE and NICOLE, BEN and AVA, TOM and LILY, and MARCUS and EMMA — five couples, ten old friends — set out from New York on a cross-country road trip to California, a dream a decade in the making. Each couple drives their own sports car in a loose, easygoing convoy: a Mustang GT, a Challenger, a Camaro, a GT-R, and, at the back of the pack, Marcus and Emma's Mustang convertible.
Somewhere in rural Kansas, Marcus and Emma fall behind for gas and a bathroom break — the most ordinary stop of the whole trip. Masked, armed men take them from the lot. By the time the other four cars realise something is wrong and double back, the gas station is empty and the couple is gone.
Local police quickly identify the pattern: this is the third disappearance on the same stretch of highway in eighteen months. The FBI is brought in, led by SPECIAL AGENT DIANE CRUZ, who has chased this corridor's unsolved cases for over a year. When the kidnappers make a ransom call demanding two hundred thousand dollars, the call itself gives Cruz's team their first real location lead: an isolated farmhouse where Marcus and Emma are being held.
While the group waits in an agonising holding pattern — trying to raise the ransom themselves, fielding local news coverage, and privately processing guilt and fear in pairs — Marcus works quietly to free a loose vent grate in the farmhouse basement, refusing to simply wait to be saved. When the kidnappers get spooked and move to relocate the hostages early, the FBI moves in. A tense raid, a foot chase, and a basement standoff end with Marcus and Emma rescued and the ringleader, COLE, in custody.
Reunited with the group, Marcus and Emma face a choice: go home and put the trip behind them, or finish it. They choose to keep going. The convoy continues on to California together — no couple left behind, no car out of sight — arriving at the Pacific coastline as a group, forever changed by what they survived. The drive home closes the loop, and a wedding one year later brings the whole story full circle: ten friends who left as one thing and came home as something stronger.
