Synopsis/Details
Years after their parents are erased from time by Voss, a brutal agent of temporal correction, Icari and her brother Chiron survive in the underworld of a rain-choked city. Icari has a forbidden gift: she can pull the dying back from death. But every life she saves shows her a fragment of her missing parents.
When Hollow blood infects her, Icari’s power mutates. Her rescues become more violent, more addictive, and less merciful. Chiron tries to keep her human, even as his own shadow begins to reveal the truth: their father once saved him by putting something dead inside him.
Their search leads them to Alana, their mother, trapped between moments and barely alive. Icari tries to save her, but Chiron’s shadow consumes the light keeping Alana alive. The loss breaks them. Icari stops wanting to save people and starts using them as doors.
Voss has not been hunting Icari because she is dangerous. He has been shaping her into the weapon he needs to control life, death, and time. In the end, Icari and Chiron must choose: destroy each other for what they have lost, or combine her light and his shadow to free their father and release the stolen futures Voss has imprisoned.
