Heartthrobs and Heart Attacks

Rose Haggard was going nowhere in life. She spends her days teaching the third grade and her nights getting high. Then one day, the man of her dreams enters her life, and all hell breaks loose. He will stop at nothing to win her heart, even if he leaves a trail of bodies in his wake. Set in the mid-1990s, Heartthrobs and Heart Attacks is part stoner comedy and part Giallo horror. Our main character, Rose, is a woman in her mid 30s. A flawed woman who has made some bad choices in her life, and is now stuck in a rut. Only by going through hell is she able to finally to comfort her demons. Those demons have been given a face, in the form of a masked Killer who has a strange obsession with Rose and knows everything about her. I see this as a low to mid budget film, done in the style of a straight-to-video flick from the 1980s or a late night movie you might find on HBO back. There are some special effects, but I tried not to put in too much. The main effect set piece is the reveal of the killer's true form at the end. Also, I tried to keep the length of the film to under two hours. So, if you are looking for a story that is a skewed slice of life, I hope you will give Heartthrobs and Heart Attacks a try.
