Synopsis/Details
Allan McAvoy is a fairly nondescript man; a telesales worker who happens to be saddled with the voice of Sean Connery.
Allan is approaching retirement, and toiling to secure a bonus generous enough to take his terminally ill, still flamboyant partner, Michel, on a bucket list cruise of the Northern Lights. With only nine days left to work, Allan makes a routine telesales call and unwittingly becomes the focus of a young woman, Marcella, who has an unhinged obsession with Connery.
Marcella locates Allan’s home, a remote and crumbling pile, where she takes Michel and Allan prisoner before killing two carers. When Allan fails to show up for work the next day, his concerned colleague Ruby persuades the boss to visit the house.
The boss, Harold Jr, arrives dripping in charm and bad Bond jokes. Maddened at her idol being trivialised, Marcella drowns him in Michel’s commode. This third, extremely unsavoury, murder shocks even Marcella. While she tries to hide her crimes Allan and Michel manage to escape from their bonds. The discovery that Marcella has locked them in leaves them only one option; Michel must wait, vulnerable and alone, while Allan calls the police from a distant room of their rambling old home.
Minutes before the emergency crews arrive, Marcella fatally wounds Allan. He dies in Michel’s arms, still clinging to the hope of taking Michel on the cruise. His final words reveal that he never did know how to live life to the full.
Michel alone survives the ordeal. He mourns Allan’s death from his hospital bed, knowing his life is also about to come to an end.
