Tony is a down-on-his-luck everyman stuck in a life that is shrinking by the day. He is broke, frustrated, and looking for anything that might buy him a little breathing room. By accident, he discovers Baggers University – a strange, hidden headquarters where people learn how to become believable street panhandlers by studying posture, timing, locations, props, and human psychology.
At the centre of this world is Mr Bonner, a calm, polished operator who speaks like a professor and runs the place like a school, a support group, and a business all at once. Under his watch, the “students” gather before and after each day to compare locations, count earnings, and sharpen their performances. Some treat it like a hustle. Others treat it like survival. A few treat it like the only place they still belong.
Tony is drawn in by the sheer absurdity of it but also by how strangely organised and effective it is. As he gets better in the field, he starts earning real money and building real connections with the regulars – especially Sara, a sharp, grounded woman who understands both the comfort and the danger of the system. Alongside them are Mike, an over-the-top performer who turns everything into showmanship, and Ricky, a cynical realist whose sarcasm hides how deeply trapped he feels.
