Title: Colonial Chronicles: Naija-Nonsense Genre: Political Satire Logline: In the year 1920, as Nigeria grapples with British colonial rule, a group of clever and mischievous individuals conspire to outwit the colonial authorities through a series of hilarious and audacious political maneuvers. INT. COLONIAL OFFICE - LAGOS - 1920 – DAY The grandiose office of SIR PERCY WENTWORTH, the pompous British colonial governor, is adorned with colonial paraphernalia. He sits behind a desk piled high with paperwork. INT. NAIJA-NONSENSE CLUB - NIGHT A dimly lit secret club filled with the elite of Nigerian society. Members include Chief FELA, a charismatic Yoruba chief, LADY ZAINAB, a feisty Hausa noblewoman, and MAZI CHUKWU, a sly Igbo businessman. They sip palm wine, plotting mischief. CHIEF FELA (whispering) Gentlemen and lady, the time has come to show these colonialists the power of our wit. LADY ZAINAB (agrees) We'll outfox them at their own game! MAZI CHUKWU (nods) And leave them bewildered! INT. BRITISH CLUB - DAY Sir Percy addresses a gathering of British colonists. SIR PERCY WENTWORTH (with arrogance) Gentlemen and ladies, we must maintain our control over this land. These natives don't know what's best for them! EXT. NAIJA-NONSENSE CLUB - NIGHT Chief Fela, Lady Zainab, and Mazi Chukwu huddle around a table, sketching their plan. CHIEF FELA (grinning) We'll convince Sir Percy that the British monarchy wants him to promote our traditional Nigerian attire at a grand ball. LADY ZAINAB And we'll suggest he invites local chiefs and nobles as honored guests! MAZI CHUKWU (crafty) Then we'll make sure the attire is the most flamboyant and outrageous! INT. COLONIAL BALLROOM - NIGHT The ballroom is filled with British colonists in extravagant Nigerian attire. Sir Percy welcomes Chief Fela, Lady Zainab, and Mazi Chukwu, who are dressed in absurdly lavish outfits. SIR PERCY WENTWORTH (astonished) What on Earth... CHIEF FELA (grinning) Your Excellency, we heard the monarchy adores our attire! EXT. COLONIAL GOVERNMENT HOUSE - DAY Sir Percy, defeated, addresses the British colonists. SIR PERCY WENTWORTH (frustrated) I resign as governor! I can't handle this Naija nonsense anymore! INT. NAIJA-NONSENSE CLUB - NIGHT Members celebrate their victory with a grand feast. LADY ZAINAB (toasting) To the triumph of wit overpower! MAZI CHUKWU And the liberation of Naija nonsense! CHIEF FELA (raising his glass) Long live Nigeria! FADE OUT. "Colonial Chronicles: Naija-Nonsense" is a witty and humorous satire that showcases the resilience and cunning of Nigerians in the face of colonial oppression. It highlights the power of unity, cleverness, and cultural pride in challenging oppressive regimes.
