Synopsis/Details
ACT ONE
Successful attorney Ronnie Richards and her girlfriend, Sloane Sullivan, escape to a remote mountain campground for a romantic weekend together. Their destination is an isolated clearing featuring a waterfall and only two campsites. The second site is occupied by Tom One and Tom Two, a longtime couple whose warmth and humor quickly transform the trip into an unexpected group friendship.
The weekend takes a turn when Derek Daniels, a charming and well-equipped hiker, unexpectedly appears at camp after supposedly spending the previous night alone in the wilderness. While TomTom and Sloane welcome him without hesitation, Ronnie instinctively distrusts him. As Derek gradually inserts himself into the group through a series of small, reasonable requests, Ronnie's suspicions create tension between herself and Sloane.
When Derek's campfire suddenly goes dark one evening, Ronnie investigates and discovers his campsite abandoned. She rushes back to camp and finds Sloane missing.
ACT TWO
Determined to find Sloane, Ronnie ventures alone into the wilderness while Derek forces Sloane deeper into the mountains. Unknown to Ronnie, she repeatedly comes close to finding them.
As the search intensifies, Derek attacks Ronnie and shoves her over a cliff. She plunges into a ravine below while her handgun discharges into the night. The gunshot alerts TomTom, who begin searching for their missing friends.
Believing Ronnie dead, Sloane is forced to spend the night with Derek in the wilderness. Around a campfire, her fear transforms into anger as she confronts him for betraying her trust. Her greatest pain is not her own abduction, but the belief that Ronnie died because she repeatedly defended Derek against Ronnie's warnings.
Meanwhile, Ronnie regains consciousness at the bottom of the ravine with a broken leg. Despite overwhelming pain and little hope of success, she begins dragging herself back toward Sloane.
The following morning, TomTom find Sloane alone after Derek abandons their campsite. After learning what happened, the three set out to recover Ronnie's body. During their search they spot Derek standing openly on a distant cliffside and move to confront him.
ACT THREE
Sloane and TomTom corner Derek on a cliff overlooking a fatal drop. With nowhere left to run, Derek stands powerless as Sloane, convinced he murdered Ronnie, unleashes her rage.
Before the confrontation can escalate, a muddy hand emerges from nearby brush. To everyone's astonishment, Ronnie crawls into view. Broken, battered, and barely able to move, she has somehow survived the fall and spent the night dragging herself back toward them.
With Derek finally defeated, the decision of what happens next belongs entirely to Ronnie. Despite having every reason to seek revenge, she refuses. Instead, she chooses justice over vengeance, insisting that Derek be taken down the mountain alive and turned over to law enforcement.
Later, police and emergency personnel arrive. Derek is taken into custody while Ronnie is loaded into an ambulance. Though injured and exhausted, she leaves the mountain alive, surrounded by Sloane, Tom One, and Tom Two. The weekend they planned never happened, but the four depart changed forever—and together.
