Synopsis/Details
Brandi Savoy is haunted by recurring dreams and a fused “444” pendant left to her by her mother. When the word Oakhaven comes to her in the middle of the night, she follows the clue to a library, where research into Viking history leads her to the forgotten kingdom of Oakhaven and to a queen named Ingrid Falk. As Brandi’s marriage to Mason fractures under the weight of emotional distance and control, she becomes increasingly consumed by the possibility that her dreams are not symbolic but inherited. With the help of Joaquin, a researcher tied to a Dreamscape group, Brandi begins tracing a bloodline that links her to Oakhaven’s lost royal line.
In the 8th century, Princess Ingrid returns from Jomsborg to find Oakhaven destroyed and her family slaughtered by the warlord Myrkvi. Forced into sudden rule, she transforms grief into leadership, rallying survivors, burying the dead, and rebuilding a kingdom from ash. Guided by Ragnar’s loyalty and Myrthra’s wisdom, she turns a shattered people into a war-ready force, forms alliances, joins with Bjorn, and ultimately defeats Neykim and the alliance clans in a climactic battle that secures Oakhaven’s future.
In the present, Brandi’s research uncovers a crucial royal decree: while kings carried the crown, the forefathers pendant would pass only through the daughters of the Falk line. This transforms her understanding of the pendant and of herself. She realizes her mother was part of a sacred female inheritance chain, and that she is its current bearer. The timelines converge when Brandi discovers Ingrid’s diary page revealing that Ingrid, too, began dreaming after receiving the pendant. What began as a mystery of ancestry becomes a story of ancestral recognition, as Brandi reclaims her voice, her bloodline, and a future that no longer belongs to silence.
