Synopsis/Details
Violent club owner, Frank (40) is having issues with his business. Struggling finances and a troublesome bar tender, Paulo (28). He finds some light in his life when his ex-girlfriend Daphne (28) informs him she is nine-months pregnant with his child. She was reluctant to have him in her life due to his abusive nature, but she is having doubts as to whether she can raise a child alone. He promises to change his ways and do whatever’s necessary.
Later that day he bumps into fortune teller, Valerie (50) who spills coffee over him. She is very apologetic offering to pay for the dry-cleaning. Unfortunately she doesn’t have any cash on her so invites him to her apartment just around the corner to get it. Whilst there he notices a crystal ball on her dining table and questions it. She explains her profession and offers to read his future for free. Frank is skeptical, but agrees.
Valerie tells Frank that she sees new life on the way and that his business will overcome its financial difficulties convincing him she is the real deal. Suddenly Valerie sees something she is not willing to describe, but Frank forces her. She reveals that he will be murdered. He wants to know who by. Valerie says she cannot see the man’s face, but he has a strange birthmark and senses he was born on the first snow of winter due to the coldness in his heart.
Frank returns to his club to find Paulo slacking and berates him. He tells him its the final straw and fires him. Paulo storms off and upon leaving, Frank notices he has a strange birthmark. Frank suspects Paulo is the man who will murder him. Later that night Frank visits Paulo’s apartment claiming to make amends and whilst there he strangles Paulo to death.
Frank believes he has avoided his fate. He receives a phonecall from Daphne to say she is in labour. By the time Frank reaches the hospital she has already given birth. She lets him hold his son and at that moment the midwife points out it has started snowing. Frank remembers Valerie’s words and pulls back the blanket wrapped around the baby to reveal a strange birthmark on its chest.
