Apparently, my screenplay, The Bird Feeder, has been awarded [sic] a top 35% Discoverable Badge. This is double-Dutch to me. I admit to not really knowing how Coverfly works. Should I be opening a bottle of champagne or is it just a Coverfly ploy to get writers to submit more material?

Sorry to be this guy, but for years I've had several projects on Coverfly with badges in the top 3% or 20%, and this and a nickle will get me five cents.
LOL! I had a hunch.
There's rumours abound that Coverfly is shutting down. Coverfly-X is already gone. I'm guessing that people are shutting down their accounts and that's bumping up other people's percentiles. I just got a new badge on a script they added years ago. As for the platform, it's all based on competitions, so basically gambling.
Hmm . . . thanks for that. I hadn't heard of Coverfly-X, but then again would lodge my stuff on the Coverfly site and forget about it.
Coverfly-X was a free peer feedback platform.
I also got a recent percentage bump on a project, so your theory is probably right, CJ: Folks are closing their accounts (or maybe it's a Twitter-style purge of old accounts), but this leads me to think: Why the heck do I still have an active account on there?!
In all fairness, few of us even chose to have an account on there. That was a huge controversy that just faded into the ether. You basically got notified that you had an account created for you with your awarded script already in the system.
One of my scripts is now top 10%.
I just logged into the industry side of the site, and the feed is empty.
Hey James, break out the champagne anyway! Your script, The Bird Feeder, deserves it.
Thank you, Elizabeth. Hope all is well over there.
James
