I've been working closely with one of the dudes from Bondit/Buffalo8 for awhile now. Nice people and they really do get stuff made!
Here's the catch, they do require a significant up front fee. And as we know, especially writers, they say it's a big no-no to give anyone money up front right? However, it is no different than paying a line producer to do your professional budget (often needed for funding anyhow) and they create your pitch docs and take it out to their reputable contacts. I see the value.
My questions are:
What are your thoughts on this model?
And
What type of investor would you approach for this seed money? And what kind of ROI would you offer on this portion? It's an initial 10k.
I am tempted and believe in my own script, however, we just got my daughter's hospital life flight bill in the mail and that is over 100k (hoping insurance covers it) so I'm holding on to all our savings at the moment. I say that because, it may seem like I don't believe in my project if I'm not willing to put that money down myself.
